This remodel was done on an early 1960’s ranch style home, that had never been updated

In the entry, we papered the wall in a hand-blocked Schumacher damask print. I also changed
the direction the door opens, to give some space. The top two panels in the door are actually
windows, to allow some light into the foyer

Underneath the stairs there was originally a large storage closet. We were able to use half
of it for a new powder bath, and the other part for a second closet for the master bedroom.
I plan on finishing this bath with a venetian mirror and perhaps a silk skirt for the pedestal
sink. The wallpaper is an exquisite Chinoiserie Grasscloth by Schumacher

This is the original family room/den, which was windowless.

We cut out an opening to the left, so as to get some of the natural light from the adjoining
dining room’s bay window. Now the display shelves in the back, which were remade to house
a TV, have glass shelves and lighting. We replaced the entire house’s carpet with hard-wood
floors finished in a dark mahogany stain.

This is the game room with attached enclosed porch.

We pitched the ceiling, and added windows in the peak, and we removed the enclosed
porch as well and made it into an outdoor porch.

These doors went to a windowless bedroom, which we reconfigured for an office and master
bath

This is the study that we made for the homeowner from the adjoining bedroom. We were
even able to carve out space for a window for some natural light

This is the breakfast room in the house, with the galley kitchen immediately
to it’s right. There is hardly any room for a table and chairs

I removed the built in shelves, and had a bench/banquette seat made instead.
Now we will custom make a kitchen table with a Carrera marble top, and there
will be room to pull up chairs on the other side and on the end too. There is
also drawers built-in to the bottom.

This is the kitchen. The first thing we did to the entire house is remove all
of the popcorn ceilings as well as add recessed lighting.

We are in the process of finishing the kitchen. The counters are soon to be
replaced with Carrera marble, and it is in the homeowners budget to replace
the appliances with stainless steel ones in the next year. There is a new polished
nickel faucet coming soon, and we did remove the decorative woodwork above the
sink as well as replace all the hardware

This is now the dining room, and you can see the wall where we made an opening to provide
light to the adjoining sitting room

The master bath was completely made from a space we carved out of an old windowless
bedroom.

The micro-tiles on the shower floor are a mix of marble and glass

The kid’s bathroom had a blue sink, toilet and tub. We replaced those with white and just
re-finished the existing white tile to match. There will be a sink skirt and shower curtain
installed that coordinates with the papered walls
